Chapter 2: Buttons and dials top
The buttons and dials on the top of your camera mean many of the key functions and settings are comfortably within reach for fast handling while you shoot.

Mode dial
Turn the mode dial to select a shooting mode, e.g. iAUTO mode which fully optimises all settings for the current scene. It is ideal for getting started with your E-M10 Mark II.

Rear dial
Use the rear dial, for example, to adjust shutter speeds or aperture in the various modes selected with the mode dial. Also use it to zoom in and out when viewing your pictures.

Front dial and shutter button
The front dial is perfectly positioned around the shutter button for ergonomic and rapid setting of aperture, ISO sensitivity and exposure compensation settings in different modes selected with the mode dial.

Movie button
Use the mode dial to select any mode except Photo Story to record movies while you shoot still images. Simply press the Movie button to start recording and press the Movie button again to end recording.

Live View button
Press the Live View (LV) button to switch between shooting with the viewfinder and shooting with Live View. Press and hold down to quickly switch the eye sensor on or off. When shooting with the viewfinder, the Super Control Panel is displayed on the monitor, giving you key information about your camera’s settings.

Fn2 function button
Use the Fn2 function button to select creative control functions like Color Creator or Highlight&Shadow Control while you frame and shoot images using the viewfinder. Press and hold down the Fn2 button and rotate the front or rear dial to select the menu and functions.

Adjust the colour of the subject before you even take the photo thanks to built-in Color Creator. Simply set the multi-function button to Color Creator in advance, press the Fn2 button and set the hue you want using the front dial and saturation using the rear dial.
Change the brightness of highlights and shadows and then view the results on the gradation curve. Simply set the multi-function button to Highlight&Shadow Control in advance, press the Fn2 button and adjust the shadow using the rear dial and the highlight using the front dial.

Fn3 button
You can allocate a most-used function to the Fn3 function button. Simply press the OK button and rotate the rear dial to select the button function. Then select the item using the front dial and press the OK button again.

Dioptre adjustment dial
If the display in the viewfinder looks blurry due to the conditions of your eyesight, use the dioptre adjustment dial to bring it into focus.

ON/OFF and flash pop-up lever
Turn your camera on and off with the ON/OFF lever conveniently located on the left. Rotate the lever to UP to raise the flash.
