Jan Pedersen born 1957 is a well known Swedish photographer, author and world traveler. He is specially dedicated to conservation of rainforests and threatened species and he as an Olympus visionary ambassador since 2017. As a photographer he is experimenting a lot in order to expand his visual expressions.
For nearly 40 years, Jan has led photo and nature tours tours all over the world - in all biomes from deserts to rainforests. Ecotourism is a key motivation to him.
He has been a member of the Swedish Nature Photographers association /N since 2014 and is an internationally awarded photographer. In 2015 he became the overall winner in the prestigious international photo competition Asferico. He is even a very experienced teacher in photography and nature photography through several decades.
Jan is perhaps Sweden's most published author of nature books. His first book "In the Deserts of Arabia" was selected by the World Wildlife Fund WWF for the ” Pandabok 2000”. His third book "Birdsong" is Sweden's best-selling nature book ever. - in total nearly 2 million copies have been sold in nine languages. After that other 12 books followed - many Swedish and international bestsellers. Jan has even written numerous articles for daily and professional magazines on photography and nature. He is also touring extensively as a speaker for a wide audience.
