Essay - structure and composition
essays , writing and reading
The word essay comes from the French Essai , which means to review, review, attempt, experiment.
An essay is a short prose text with critical, philosophical and journalistic elements, in which the author addresses current cultural and social problems in everyday language, on which there is still no clear position in society or there are many different points of view.
The essay expresses the author's personal attitude, his choice of the issues he will cover, his own style of presentation and conclusion, but there must be thoughtful elaboration of the problem, as well as consistency in the conclusion.
The essay analyzes, critiques, draws conclusions, and all that is artistically framed.
Essays are usually about literature, inspired by literary works, so the principles of literature itself are used. However, essay topics can be from everyday life, politics, history, geography, etc. etc.
(The use of essays in education has recently become enforced, especially in the West, and under this influence in our country as well. The basic initial idea is certainly a good one--for students to express their own opinions on a topic. But, Unfortunately, it usually happens that they just copy texts from the Internet, or go to essaybot services and then do not even read, bring them to the teachers and think they have done their job.
No! An essay is a paper. A real essay requires work, research, reading, making your own judgments, and then explaining them with arguments. Only if students stick to the ground rules, if they write their own essay, then there can be success, and the essay can have an effect).
Essay Structure and Composition
The structure and composition of an essay cover its external form and the relationship of the parts from which it is composed.
The external form, the appearance of the text, is as important as the appearance of a person. If a person is washed, groomed, well dressed, with a neat haircut, he leaves a different impression than someone who has just gotten out of bed.
Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the appearance of the text. This is especially true of handwritten texts (written papers, graduate essays, etc.).
Externally - in the essay should be divided by at least three paragraphs - the introduction, the main part and the final part. There may be more paragraphs in the main part, depending on the thesis to be processed.
Each paragraph in is essayshark legit begins on a new line, indented so that it can be marked in its entirety (or, as first graders say, leave two fingers!).
Of course, the handwriting should be legible so that it is not a hassle to read.
1. Before you begin writing your essay, it is best to conceptualize the topic to be covered. In paragraphs we present the main ideas / theses that we will be processing, and in sub-items we present the secondary ideas that arise from the main ideas, i.e., sub-ideas.
2. the essay must contain theses:
- we test, test, translate our own ideas into a thought/suggestion;
- has better organization and argument construction;
- provide a flow of thought that is easy for the reader to understand.
3 The essay should have an introduction, which should begin with general information about the topic and gradually lead to the main thesis statement. The thesis should be presented in one, at most two sentences with the purpose of our explanation, i.e., argumentation, and should indicate what will be discussed in the next text.
Sometimes the introduction can be "pompous," evocative, unexpected, to grab the reader's attention.
Of course, the introduction should be such as to grab the reader's attention and introduce him or her to the ideas that will be explained next.
4. In the elaboration (the main part of the text) we must describe, argue and prove all theses and propositions. We write each new thesis statement on a new line, so the more thesis statements we have - the more paragraphs there will be in the essay.
5. The final part (conclusion) should be the closure of the topic, summarizing all theses presented, trying not to repeat and express the final position on the topic that has been processed. A proverb, a proverb, or an anecdote can sometimes be a good ending.
This section should be no longer than three or four sentences.
