Chapter 5: Flash

Discover how to fit a flash unit to your E-M5 Mark II.

Remove the terminal cover

Slide off the terminal cover, which protects the flash hot shoe.

Attach the flash unit

Slide the flash unit all the way into the hot shoe to ensure it is securely attached to your camera. Then move the ON/OFF lever to the ON position.

Raise the flash head

Lift up the flash head and change the vertical or horizontal orientation of the flash unit. This is ideal for bounce shooting – when shooting indoors with fast prime lenses. When not using the flash, move the ON/OFF lever to the OFF position.

Remove the flash unit

Keep the Unlock switch on the flash unit pressed down while removing the flash unit.
